Logging eggs

How do I log tonight's eggs?

Home tab → tap the big button, once per egg. Each flock gets its own card with today's count front and center, and a week strip underneath shows the last 7 days at a glance. When you're done, lock up the coop with one gesture to close out the night.

What's the evening reminder?

An optional nudge that asks "How many eggs tonight?" — one quiet notification, off by default. Turn it on or off in Settings. It's scheduled on your phone from your own routine; nothing is sent anywhere.

What about molting season?

Molting season mode means zeros still count and the streak never punishes the girls. Log the empty nights like any other — your records stay honest and your streak stays intact.

Cost per egg

How is cost per egg calculated?

Log feed, bedding and supplies in seconds as you buy them. EggBasket divides everything you've spent by every egg collected — your honest cost per egg. Watch it fall as the girls hit their stride, and see the day the coop pays for itself.

Your flock

How do I manage hens?

The Flocks tab holds your hen roster — names, breeds, and per-hen weekly averages. Photo notes let you attach a photo to each hen (part of the lifetime unlock), picked with Apple's system photo picker.

What happens when I lose a hen?

Archive her. She leaves the roster, but her eggs stay in your records — the history never lies.

Where are my stats?

The Stats tab has your 14-day lay chart, streaks and weekly trends. Insights (weekly trends and your best laying days) is part of the lifetime unlock.

Sharing the haul

How do I share the week?

The share card is a coop-sign style image with your flock's name, this week's eggs and your cost per egg — ready for your story, the family group chat, or the neighbors who keep asking. It goes out through the standard iOS share sheet.

Your data

Where does my data live?

On your phone. There's no account, no login, and no company server that can lose your records. If iCloud sync is on, your data also syncs privately through your own iCloud — invisible to us.

Is my data backed up?

Two ways, both included: private iCloud sync (no account needed) and manual backup files you keep — restore with Settings → Restore from Backup. Restore merges safely and never duplicates.

Can I get my records out?

Always. CSV export is included for everyone, from day one — your records are portable whether or not you ever buy anything.

I bought it on my old phone — how do I unlock my new one?

Open the unlock screen (for example by opening Insights on the Stats tab) and tap Restore Purchases with the same Apple Account. Free, always. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
